A town fill with tons of history from years gone by, Het Pachhof is decorated with memorabilia from World War 2, with lots to see and do.||The B&B was clean and comfortable with a great continental breakfast. ||The rooms have Clean linen and great shower and a TV that works with out having to log into your own apps

What a wonderful, family run hotel. The rooms are a beautiful combination of antiques and modern styling. It has a nice WWII museum. The restaurant was excellent. There are two breweries close by. We felt like we were back in time. We will return.

Don't get me wrong; "Het Pachthof has many positive points. Het Pachthof is situated in a ancient farmstead in the quiet village of Borlo. Free parking spaces are available opposite the hotel. The reception by the "mother of the house" is a bit reserved, but polite and efficient. The commodious room offers a good bed and a spacious bathroom with a modern shower stall and plentiful towels. All ingredients are there for a satisfactory stay. What is a bit weird is that the hotel doubles as a museum commemorating the winter of 1944, when WW II was raging in Belgium. Starting with the American WW II tank next to the building, the rusty remains of airplane engines in the entrance and a dummy parachuting from the roof of the entrance, the tone is set. Furthermore, the furniture in the hotel and also in the rooms are from grandparent's time. Room numbers are designated by ancient bicycle tax shield. In our room a WW II bicycle was pressed into service as wall decoration. (See picture). The result was, that the room was a strange mixture of old and modern. A modern shower stall, but a wash basin without mixing tap. A DVD-player is available, but the TV is so small and ancient that you need almost binoculars to watch the movie from the bed. Another weird thing was the message on the fridge (a fridge is available), that only stuff bought in the hotel is allowed to be placed in the fridge; an exception was made for medicine. But the main purpose, a good night stay, was more than fulfilled. A three point rating with something to spare. I would not mind staying again at "De Pachthof". Oh, I almost forgot. An authoritative black-and-white cat is part of the hotel staff, giving the hotel even more charm.
